Individual Therapy

Therapy for Teens & Adults

I primarily work with adolescents and adults navigating stress, relationships, identity, neurodivergence, difficult family experiences, and significant life transitions. Many of my adult clients are Gen Z and Millennials, professionals, mental health clinicians, and other helping professionals who are beginning to recognize how earlier experiences, family relationships, and long-standing expectations continue to influence the way they see themselves, communicate, set boundaries, manage stress, and relate to others.

For some clients, therapy includes making sense of late-diagnosed or newly recognized ADHD or other neurodivergence, giftedness or twice-exceptionality, chronic stress, burnout, or why strategies that helped them succeed earlier in life are no longer sustainable. For others, the work may center on family-of-origin experiences, difficult or controlling relationships, anxiety or depression, communication and boundaries, identity, or navigating a significant transition.

Even in individual therapy, I work from a systemic lens. We may explore how relationships, family roles, attachment experiences, trauma, cultural or generational expectations, and patterns learned earlier in life continue to shape your experiences today. This does not mean tracing every current difficulty back to childhood or family; it means understanding what you are experiencing in context rather than as though it developed in isolation.

Therapy is individualized to what brings you in and what you hope to better understand or change. The goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to better understand yourself and the patterns shaping your experience so that the changes you make are meaningful, realistic, and sustainable for your life.

Mental Health Clinicians

Therapy for Mental Health Clinicians & Helping Professionals

I particularly enjoy working with therapists and other helping professionals who are accustomed to being in the role of supporting others and want a space where they can focus on their own experiences, relationships, needs, and well-being. Having professional knowledge about mental health does not necessarily make it easier to recognize or change patterns in your own life—or to experience difficult things without analyzing or intellectualizing them.

Therapy provides a space where you do not have to be the clinician, problem-solver, or person who has everything figured out. Our work may include relationships and family-of-origin patterns, boundaries, professional identity, burnout, perfectionism, neurodivergence, or the ways your personal and professional experiences intersect.

The focus of this work is you, your experiences, relationships, needs, and well-being, rather than your role as a clinician. This is therapy, not clinical supervision or professional consultation.

Relationship & Family Therapy

Stronger Relationships. Healthier Family Patterns.

I work with couples, parents, and families who want to better understand relationship patterns and find healthier ways to communicate, connect, and navigate challenges together. Many of the families I work with are navigating neurodivergence, parenting concerns, significant life transitions, complicated family histories, trauma, changes in health or diagnosis, or differences in how family members communicate and experience the world.

As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I approach relationship concerns from a family systems perspective. Rather than focusing on one person as the source of a problem, we look at what happens between people, the patterns that have developed over time, and the individual experiences each person brings into the relationship. This may include family roles and expectations, communication styles, attachment experiences, trauma, culture, developmental stages, and changes within the family system. The goal is to understand how patterns developed, what continues to reinforce them, and where change may be possible.

This perspective can be particularly helpful for neurodiverse couples and families, where differences in communication, executive functioning, emotional regulation, sensory needs, information processing, or expectations may contribute to misunderstanding or conflict. What looks like an individual problem often exists within a larger relational context, and meaningful change may require understanding both each person’s needs and how family members respond to one another.

Therapy is tailored to each family’s needs and structure. Sessions may involve a couple, the whole family, parents or caregivers, siblings, or different combinations of family members over time.

Neurodivergent Couples & Families

Therapy may help families better understand differences in communication, executive functioning, emotional regulation, sensory needs, information processing, and expectations, as well as how those differences affect relationships and everyday family life.

This may include parenting neurodivergent children and teens, navigating differences among family members, or helping couples better understand how neurodivergence shapes their relationship.

Relationship & Family Patterns

Therapy may focus on recurring patterns of conflict or disconnection, communication, boundaries, attachment experiences, family roles and expectations, complicated family histories, or intergenerational patterns.

The work focuses on understanding what happens between people and developing healthier, more effective ways of responding to one another.

Family Changes & Transitions

Therapy may support couples and families navigating separation or divorce, blended or stepfamily relationships, changes in health or diagnosis, significant life transitions, eating disorder recovery, or the effects of domestic violence or coercive control on individuals and relationships.

The work may focus on adjusting to change, supporting caregivers and family members, rebuilding connection, and developing patterns that better fit the family’s current needs.

Court-Involved Therapy

Therapy When Family Law & Clinical Needs Intersect

I work with adolescents ages 12+, adults, parents, and families whose therapeutic needs intersect with active or ongoing family law litigation, including separation, divorce, high-conflict co-parenting, strained parent-child relationships, and significant changes within the family system.

As a Marriage & Family Therapist with extensive experience in court-involved family systems, I approach this work with attention to the client’s therapeutic needs, the larger family system, and the boundaries between clinical treatment and forensic roles. Depending on the therapeutic goals, family needs, and applicable court orders, treatment may involve an individual, parent and child, co-parents, or other family members.

The Focus Remains on Therapy

Even when treatment is court-ordered, the purpose of therapy is to support therapeutic change. It is not an investigation or forensic evaluation and is not intended to determine which parent is right or wrong, resolve disputed allegations, make custody or timesharing recommendations, or provide forensic opinions to the Court.

Court-involved cases may require review of court records, additional documentation, coordination with attorneys or other professionals, and involvement in the legal process outside of scheduled sessions. For this reason, court-involved therapy is subject to separate policies and fees from traditional outpatient therapy. Each case is reviewed before services begin to ensure the requested role is clinically appropriate and clearly defined.
